
Reggae band Intent has been uplifting and mesmerizing audiences all over Southern California, from Ojai to Hermosa Beach, Ventura, Del Mar, Long Beach, and more for the past four years! All the musicians are seasoned, experienced reggae musicians who have worked with top reggae acts all over the world. We are here to stimulate your atoms, stimulate your neurons, stimulate your protons, and leave you feeling uplifted and energized!
Eric Walsh – Described as one of the sweetest voices in reggae music today, lead singer and rhythm guitar player Eric Walsh hails from Kingston, Jamaica, by way of Toronto, Canada, where he sang with the very popular band Messenjah. Upon moving to Southern California, he appeared in the movie Cocktail, starring Tom Cruise, the television show Cedric the Entertainer, sang for a Disney animated Christmas movie, and performed the title track to the Island Passion album, “The World Will Remember.” Forging out on his own, Eric decided to form his own band, Intent, to combine his love of reggae music with his work in energetics.
Ronnie “Stepper” McQueen – One of the founding members of the great reggae band Steel Pulse, bass player Ronnie McQueen is a legend in the reggae community! His signature bass lines can be heard on hits like “Ravers,” “Roller Skates,” “Chant a Psalm,” and “Steppin’ Out,” some of the classic reggae songs of all time. Now living in Southern California, his deep reggae pocket is unmistakable. Rolls like thunder!
Audley “Chizzy” Chisholm – Lead guitar player Chizzy also hails from Jamaica and is one of the most sought-after musicians on the planet, having worked with great artists like Lauryn Hill, Maxi Priest, Shaggy, Isaac Hayes, Shabba Ranks, Big Mountain, and the Wailing Souls. Chizzy adds a whole other musical element to the roots vibes of Intent!
He is also one of the most talented players on the scene today. He has added his skills to Ziggy Marley, Willie Nelson, Burning Spear, the Wailing Souls, Big Mountain, and Calypso Rose, and is a regular at Fully Fullwood’s popular weekly Sunday reggae show in Long Beach.
Casey Jones – Drummer and vocalist from Santa Barbara, California, Casey felt empowered by the great Bob Marley upon meeting him on his first tour of the United States and has not stopped spreading the reggae vibes since the early 1970s! He has worked with such great artists as Papa Michigan, Sister Nancy, Yami Bolo, and Better Chemistry, and led the first reggae band in Southern California, Spliff!
David “Kavika” Gorospe – A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with deep roots in reggae and Hawaiian culture, Kavika has worked with Big Mountain, Haley Reinhart, Black Uhuru, and Everton Blender. He brings island vibes and soulful energy to every performance.
